Nomad

Clavia has announced that development of their editor is discontinued. Thus it is only a matter of time when the editor does not work with future versions of Microsoft Windows. The alternative editor will make sure that you still have an editor when this happens.

The alternative editor is also a good start to add new features and increase usability.

No. New modules require a different Nord Modular Firmware. We only provide an alternative editor.

Nomad 0.2.1 (pre-release):

Supported features are

• Patch file reading/writing
• Sending/Receiving patches to/from the synthesizer
• Patch export as image
• Create and modify a patch

Missing features/Problems

• Module Displays are missing.
• Morph's cannot be assigned.
• Global patch settings are not (automatically) synchronized with the synthesizer.
• ...

Since none of us developers has a Micro Modular available for testing we don't support this model at the moment. However you can try if Nomad works with this model and supply us with feedback so that we can make necessary changes to achive support.

Note: Before you use Nomad with the Micro Modular

• open nomad/conf/application.xml in a text editor
• change
  <entry key="nordmodular.slots">4</entry>
  to
  <entry key="nordmodular.slots">1</entry>
• save the file and start Nomad

Download and Install

Step 1/3
After pressing the download button you will be forwarded to the sourceforge download page.
There you have to choose the location from which the file is downloaded. Select the download link of a location near to yours.

Step 2/3
When the new page is loaded wait a few seconds until the download dialog appears.
If the download dialog does not appear click the direct download link. If you still get no download dialog proceed with Step 1 and choose a different download location.

Step 3/3
When the download dialog appears choose the location you want to save to and click the save as button.

At the moment we do not provide an installer. Just unzip the archive to a desired directory.

This depends on your operating system. Try if a single or double click (like you start other executables) on the file nomad.jar works. If not you have to start Nomad manually.

Starting Nomad manually:

• Open the directory where the file nomad.jar is stored in a terminal/console.
• Type java -jar nomad.jar and press the enter key.

Note: You have to start nomad from within the directory containing the file nomad.jar otherwise it will not work correctly.
